Dunstanburgh Wildlife

We enjoy a good walk in our local area especially up the stunning Northumberland coast , we’ve walked to Dunstanburgh a few times from Low Newton by the Sea but this time we decided to do it from the home of the Great Kipper – Craster . We also took the chance to use our National Trust Memberships and have a look around the Castle .

Now as it happens the Castle is home to a sea bird colony on the cliffs so it gave me a chance to hone my wildlife photography skills……..

On the way around the castle i noticed a Kestrel out on the prowl……

It even rested on the old keep……

It was amazing to watch this raptor in flight in so close proximity .
